The word “radiation” invokes a fear response. People are scared of any amount of radiation. Myths abound about radiation exposures; but for sure, any exposure is seen as harmful. In fact, some individuals assume that if you are exposed to radiation at any level, you will die. This manual will attempt to dispel some of those myths and put radiation and radioactive materials into perspective. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the ISRI radiation safety training program entitled The Basics of Radiation, which is available on CD.
